ARTIST STATEMENT

With a degree in printed textiles, I started own business creating bags and accessories. At the moment I am enjoying creating mixed media pieces with a wide source of inspiration. Some are about memories and hold a lot of meanings for me, while others are more light hearted.

THE REFOUND PIECE

I love 1950′s textile prints and took inspiration from the circular flowers and simple leaf patterns of the time. I wanted this piece to be soft and suitable for a bedroom so I used muted colours and pastel tones. I kept the detail to the front which is new for me but I added a wee suprise in the inside.
